R & R Productions, synonymous with: Ron
Cote, "THE MUSIC MAN"
Ron began his career in the Dance World originally as
a teacher with Arthur Murray, teaching briefly in his early years. It was as an instructor that he met his wife, Lee,
who was also training at Arthur Murray's. After marrying, Lee retired to raise the family, while Ron commenced a lucrative
career in the automobile business, retiring after more than 30 years of service. His great love of ballroom dancing
never diminished. Ron and Lee began their business, R & R Productions, and together they established the social
dancing/lesson format as we know it today. They went on to achieve their life-long dream: organizing a dance competition.
In fact, Ron, Lee, and Christa, their daughter, own and run two very large dance competitions in the US, the Constitution
State Challenge Dancesport Championships (CSC) and the Northeastern Open Invitational Dancesport Championships (NEO).
Ginny Norman was their partner in one of them, the NEO, until her death in 2007. Ron and Christa are certified as adjudicators
with the NDCA, the governing body of professional ballroom dancing. This means they can judge at competitions all over
the United States. In addition, Christa is certified as a chairman (the highest and hardest level) which means "she
does it all. Christa is also a Science teacher at Newington High School. She is certified in all levels of biology
and has two bachelor, two Master degrees and a six year certificate in biology. Christa also teaches biology at
Central Connecticut State University. Lee handles all the details that are so crucial into making all the events so
successful. Ron always says that the success of their events are directly attributed to the details and organization
of Lee and Christa.
